Weary and tired after a lifetime of battling the Empire, Cole has no illusions left about seeing the war’s end. He makes no attempts to hide his pessimistic, cynical outlook either, a broken man with little to nothing to lose. All bright moments in his life and any chance of finding peace of mind have been taken from him. The veteran suffers from restlessness at night, haunted by the faces of war, though he firmly refuses to follow the path of so many others and find salvation in alcohol. Dekker is too stubborn to give up, unable to deny his Corellian blood; the firmly established hatred for the Empire and unwillingness to simply sit down and die prompt him into doing what his old bones can against the regime. Another factor is his refusal to accept the Galactic Civil War’s been completely in vain; he’s seen too much death and sacrifice to let go. Always the loyal and principled soldier of the New Republic, Cole mourns the Republic’s fall, eternally regretful and believing he could have done more.
Feeling the aches and chronic pains of age doesn’t help the Corellian either. Very much aware he won’t be able to keep up with the younger generation forever, Cole is fraught with anxiety, wondering if he can still fight the Empire as he used to, and if he can, for how much longer will he be able to do so. He doesn’t want to be the weak link and loathes the thought of getting other rebels killed. It is for this reason he prefers to work alone, providing support and sowing seeds of rebellion rather than engaging the Empire directly.

- Fit – A former SpecForce soldier, Cole possesses enough strength and endurance to compete with younger blood.
- Experienced – After a lifetime of fighting, Cole is a veteran through and through. Sly as a fox and good with all sorts of weaponry, the man can give any stormtrooper a run for his money.
- Marksman – Even though not as deadly as he used to be, Cole’s aim is still steady and accurate. The Corellian is an excellent shot with blaster rifles and pistols.
- Old – Cole's age is catching up to him and he isn't getting any younger. While still boasting impressive physique, the rebel is nowhere near as agile and quick as he used to be.
- Disillusioned – Seeing the New Republic's rise and fall, there isn't much to give the Civil War veteran hope things will ever go for the better. Rather than fighting for a better future, Cole is motivated solely by his personal vendetta against the Empire.
