Description: Schism Corporation was founded by Sara in 138 BBY under the original name of Schism Operations, and it was little more then just one more mercenary squad at the time, in a galaxy full of them. For roughly sixty to seventy years, Schism Ops plied its trade on just about every possible type of battlefield imaginable, though because of how Sara had been trained when growing up, and due to her personality, the group's casualty rate made potential employers highly concerned about putting them into the field. When push came to shove, however, they got the job done no matter how many Schism mercenaries died. Understandably, after so many years of operating under a high-risk, high-return manner, word definitely got around that working with Schism Operations was deadly to one's health, fatally so. This prompted contracts to dry up fast, despite the company's track record of successes that overshadowed just how many mercenaries had been reduced to cannon fodder. Seeing which way the blood was flowing, as Sara liked to say, she cut her losses and turned her attentions towards safer ways of making money.
So in 68 BBY, near the end of the period known as the Great Peace of the Republic, Sara took the experience and money accumulated over seventy years of continuous mercenary operations, and woke her old command from cold sleep, from when she'd been a soldier in her early to mid-20's. As soon as they were acclimatized to how much things had changed while they slept, they gave her their allegiance as their commanding officer once more, and traveled to Naboo, where they took up residence and set about forming Schism Corporation bit by bit. In the process of doing so, many of the mercenary groups who had once been her competitors for money and work during the days of Schism Operations, became clients of Schism's exploration into the black market - as an acquirer and seller of illegal arms, as new blood flowed into each group with each new battle.
This continues to this day, though in the last ninety-two years a long-buried part of Sara's mind has begun prodding her to do something more constructive then kill some people or sell death to other people. Using the money and network of contacts that she has developed over her life, she set about looking for rich patrons who were seeking something different to whet their appetites . . . something new. It is now roughly 24 ABY . . . and Sara views the state of the galaxy with amusement once more - and seeks to return to the pursuit of knowledge, though she seeks to do so within limits. To this end, she has liquidated a small portion of Schism's assets and invested the resulting funds into a small, privately-owned and operated shipyard on Corellia, becoming the owner for all intents and purposes.
