Like many other sites, Refugees makes use of a three-tier rank system. For simplicity, these tiers will be referred to as First, Second and Third Tiers in these rules. They are as follows:
Force Users: Padawan (Apprentice) / Knight / Master
Non-Force Users: Trainee / Adept / Elite
(Member created factions may have custom ranks in the future)
All new characters that do not pursue a rank transfer will start at the First Tier, relative to their Force alignment. Promotions through the tiers will be handled by the site administration. If you feel a character is ready to be promoted but has been overlooked, please PM a board mod with links to threads.
Promotions: First Tier to Second Tier
To rank up to Second Tier, a character must complete a minimum of two roleplays. These can be a traditional training thread, or just a short introduction thread, or a past roleplay, or even a group roleplay or mission. In at least one of these threads, attention must be given to the development of the abilities of the character. Consideration will be given to threads that are incomplete due to abandonment, but more threads may be required as a result.
Faction Mods of the character's associated faction may immediately promote up to Second Tier, but must inform Board Staff of this promotion. In the case of Rogue characters, they must seek teaching from a mentor for the ability development thread, then submit all their relevant links to Board Staff for consideration.
Promotions: Second Tier to Third Tier
To rank up to Third Tier, a character must have at least six months' sustained activity from their last promotion before being considered. Once a character has reached this minimum period, their faction mod may submit their name to the Board Staff for the voting process. The voting process will then be undertaken by all Board Staff, in addition to two of the existing Tier Three members of their faction chosen by Board Staff. To receive the promotion, a character requires a majority (three of five, four of six - any arrangement that is definitively over 50%) of voting members.
In the case of Rogue characters, they may seek sponsorship from any Mod. Their voting process will then be carried out by the Board Staff plus any two of the Faction Administrators in place of their faction Tier Three members.
The board admin reserves the right to promote members if it believes the member in question has earned it.
