Take a Swig o' This [RANDOM BAR THREAD]

As more patrons arrived, the cantina naturally increased in its rowdy atmosphere. The Chandrilan smuggler thought nothing of it, having visited more than her share of busy and sketchy drinking establishments. She chuckled for a moment at the nearby customer's comment about money but didn't pay it any mind. They were all joking.

Corvetta was working on the bottom half of her glass when a wandering hand seemed to make itself welcome to her rear with an enthusiastic slap. Her light frame jolted slightly forward and she nearly chipped a tooth on the rim of the glass as some of her adult beverage sloshed in her grip and spattered against the tip of her bronzed nose. She recovered quickly, sitting back up--or as much as her hunched posture allowed--and glanced behind her to acknowledge the perpetrator.

No one ever treated her like that, so what could it mean? Straight-faced, she responded, "Watch your shit there, bud. Might have to repair that aft if ya hit any harder." She turned back to face the rest of her drink and nervously brushed some bangs accentuated by dyed teal and purple from in front of her eyes. Her dark irises looking upwards to see Rusty beholding the scene with an anticipatory stare. She merely shrugged and emptied the last of her gin.

Corvetta laid her dry glass back on the counter and was ready to order another when mention of a Jedi caught her attention. Her head swiveled once more, eyes darting between this Romero character and his Mirialan compatriot. The small spacer had seen a lot of things in her short lifetime, but that was something fresh to her.

Rundo would walk through the door, his red and black robe on he would shuffle to the bar with bags under his eyes and a depressing tone to his voice.

"the strongest whiskey you got please"

The bartender would slide it over, rundo ignoring the comment of a Jedi. He needed not to talk to any Jedi at this moment, or much of anyone else honestly. His face was covered the hood concealed his face. His saber was concealed inside of his robe. Rundo would take a shot of the whiskey the bartender pouring another.

Rundo would sit minding his own buinsnes. Listening in with the force he could hear just about every conversation in the room if he wanted to focus in on it. But as he heard something about an inquisitor he would listen in. His head would move quickly his gaze hitting the Jedi and the red head. Rundo would take down his hood and smile at the two re adjusting in his seat. Common mistake, but he liked to hide as an inquisitor because just about any imperial personnel would leave him alone. Moving his hand he would reveal his saber staff to the two women, making sure they wouldn't mess with him. It was hidden well to any other prying eyes but if anyone would decide to move by the girls they would see it too. She was too young to be a Jedi knight, but Jedi always tend to stay close to their kin.

For a bounty hunter, Rowin was surprisingly happy-go-lucky. He knew it, too; knew that it usually threw other sentients off kilter. Well...besides the realization that they were being stalked by a giant, biped, meat-eating rabbit. But, Rowin had been rattling around the big ole' galaxy outside of his native Coachelle Prime for near a decade at this point, and he couldn't say he really cared what others thought of him. He was unexpected...and he used that to his advantage.

Passerby's stopped and stared at him as he passed down the dusty street - until, that is, they realized that the armor he wore was unmistakably Mandalorian in nature. Then they promptly turned their faces and went about their business with a determination that bordered on desperate. The Lepi stifled a good-natured chuckle at it all, as his orange-armored boots kicked up little dirt devils with each step.

He whistled as his long legs ate up the distance between him and the best watering hole the dingy back-water town had to offer. Rowin had been this way many times before and he knew the spot well: Rusty's Razor. It was a quiet little spot to rest and relax - well, as quiet as any back-water cantina ever could be, he supposed.
 
He was between jobs at the moment. The Lepi's only intention was to kick his feet up, enjoy a drink or two, catch up on some gossip with ole' Rusty, and consider any available bounties that might have been posted on the Holonet since last he had a chance to look.

Great was the Lepi's shock, when he walked through the Razor's door and saw the stand-off frozen momentarily front of him. In fact, the bounty hunter froze himself, as his mix-matched eyes (one blue, one brown) latched onto the unmistakable blue blades of Jedi. Rowin stood perfectly still, but his eyes didn't stay on the Jedi for any longer than it took to register the reality of what they were. He spotted the Inquisitor almost immediately, and he considered the two tussling women in between the Jedi for the longest. One was clearly a Spacer - a little scruffy, a little rough around the edges. The other...well, Rowin wasn't too sure, but she had the severe, pulled-back hair of someone who probably lived a life of equally severe discipline. Like a soldier...an Imperial, most like.

Rowin's paws had reached for the blasters on his hips the second he'd registered the lightsabers. But, he didn't pull them out just yet - the bar looked like it was well on its way to unmitigated chaos and the unexpected appearance of a bounty hunter with guns blazing wasn't going to help matters any.

"Well, now," he muttered quietly, just barely loud enough to be heard by everyone else. "Whatcha' got here, eh?"

Well, now she wasn't exactly sure what to do.

Corvetta surprisingly had the woman wrangled on the floor, but from this point forward she didn't have any sort of plan mapped out. Was she supposed to punch the lady? She supposed that was a good start. With the tightest fist she had ever squeezed, the pilot made a determined thrust right into the side of the Imperial's skull. After the forceful contact, her hand reflexively retracted and opened wide, and she rolled aside in agony. It felt good to clobber the woman, but perhaps not very healthy.

One of the beautiful things about being a Lepi, was the incredible quality of one's hearing. One of Rowin's lop ears twitched - once, twice - as two of the women present said something. The first was quiet and slightly muffled from behind the bar, but the terrified plea in the woman's words was enough to move Rowin's boots into motion. He was two strides into the bar, when the Mirialan Jedi spoke; Rowin considered halting his forward momentum, but only for a second - a second of thought that wasn't at all telegraphed in his movements.

He didn't know what was going on, but he was no dumb bunny. Two things were quite evident to him, thanks to the two women. One, was that Rusty was hurtling toward a meeting with the Black Rabbit and the second was that the woman he thought was an Imperial most likely was. There really wasn't any other way to interpret "Imperial reinforcements will be here any minute", except to take it directly at face value. There was an Imperial in the bar - definitely, most likely, the one who'd been clocked in the face - and she'd called in the metaphorical cavalry. Rowin glanced down as something crunched beneath his boot treads. Yup. That was a smashed communicator; the Lepi glanced over at the woman who had broken it to begin with. He flashed her a toothy grin.

Without another word, he put a hand on the top of the bar and hopped easily over it. The bounty hunter found himself on the other side of the woman - a spacer, by the looks of her - who had been begging Rusty to hang in there. Across from them was the Mirialan Jedi; Rowin twitched his whiskers in a gesture that held the same meaning as if he'd cocked an eyebrow.

Rowin didn't have anything against Jedi. In fact, the only beings in the room he had a grudge for, were the Imperials. The Empire had not been kind to his home world - in fact, there were countless Lepi literally slaving in mines across the galaxy. They were underground beings and good for digging...or, at least, that's what the slavers said. Rowin had been one of those Lepi slaves, until he'd been discovered during a desperate bid for freedom and consequently rescued.

He was a bounty hunter...but he was picky about who he chose to go after. Money was all fine and good, but Rowin still held on to a small bit of the idealism that had brightened his mismatched eyes as a young leveret. It didn't matter how many credits were on a bounty's head - he didn't go after them, unless there was a damn good reason for him to spend his time on the hunt. Jedi, he'd quickly learned, usually had prices on their head for no other reason than that they were Jedi. Plus, the Force sort of wigged Rowin out a little, so he gave those proficient in the Force a fairly cautious berth. He preferred, mostly, to go after Underworld scum.

Not to mention, he had come into the cantina to put his feet up and wet his whistle. He wasn't "on the job", as it were...so, Jedi or not, he wasn't about to divert his attention to saving poor Rusty's life, just to cash in on another being who was trying to help him.

"Worst thing we can do is move 'im," Rowin didn't even need to look Rusty over very closely, to come to that conclusion.

He took a moment, though, to give the Kaminoan more than just a cursory glance. The Lepi frowned - it didn't look good for the ole' bartender. The bounty hunter lifted his gaze and locked it on the Jedi.

"Got any fancy tricks up yer sleeve?" he asked, almost hopefully; ever a realist, however, his paws were already digging through one of the pouches around his waist. "Cuz here's the deal," he directed his attention toward the other woman, the spacer. "We move 'im, 'e dies. Short o' a miracle and a means to bind up 'is wound, the prospects ain't good fer your friend."
