In an unknown location. In an unknown room. In the middle of this unknown room sat the boy. Lance Lockhart now coming to. fuzzy was his world. With only a light barely illuminating his presence at the center of this room. The lights couldn't even provide sight to the walls. Lance sighed, grunted. Tried moving his hands, and came to find he could not. They were bound... why were they bound. Lance was now waking up more. Taking in his surroundings. He was on a slab, a table.
Think... Last thing Lance remembered... He was leaving a Cantina on Tatoonie... felt a prick on the back of his neck... then everything went black.
Everything was slowly coming to him. He got capture.
Now why? Who? & Where is he? What did they want with him? he knew he would get answers or get the details of the situation would reveal themselves. Whether his captures will tell him or not. He will get his answers. Lance was now meditating. His touch on the force seemed so far away. There were still drugs in his system and will take time to where off. But not long enough before they dose with more to keep him from using the force.
So Lances best guess is to wait till his abductee revealed them self.

A hidden holocam recorded the display from inside the room and transmitted it to a holoviewer in another room. There, Special Agent Cody Weadge watched the struggling captive. He was technically not a prisoner since the Empire did not have legal jurisdiction on this planet. Of course, such things had never stopped him before. More so than even the other branches of the Imperial Intelligence Bureau, Adjustments agents like him saw laws as mere tools to ensnare their targets.
Not that many knew what it meant for him to be Adjustments. While his fellow Adjusters were not exactly a secret, at least not as much as the Inquisition, their role in the Empire was rarely spoken of. After all, they answered directly to the IIB's High Command, and officially none of the agents existed. They were only called in for the most extreme missions, and the kidnapping of Director of Research Madeline Kahoshi certainly qualified.
Undoubtedly the captive was expecting Cody to make his appearance any moment, but it was not yet time for that. The man had not yet enjoyed enough of Cody's hospitality to be willing to talk. Reaching over, Cody flipped a switch that caused a sunroof to open in the room. It might seem odd, opening an entrance to the outside in a prisoners room. That is until sand attempted to blow in and sparked the shield running across the opening. It had been a stroke of luck to find this room, and one he planned to fully utilize. While the shield kept out sand (and kept the already bound captive in), it did not stop the twin suns and their heat.
Leaning back, Cody continued to watch the holoviewer and see the man's reaction over the next few hours.
Post by Lance Lockhart on Feb 13, 2018 2:12:29 GMT -5
The roof opened. With that Lance closed one eye to protect his vision from the scorching sun while slowly opening other to see. Only on Tatoonie would it be sand storming while still sunny out. A little wind was getting through. Not much. It changed the conditioned enough that some one would notice. If they didn't see that the roof mechanically removed it's self.
Lance tilted his head just enough to crack it a little. The obvious was now presenting it's self. He was being watched. Not sure how. But they waited until he woke up just at the right time to lift this roof. Possibly to make a statement.
Well time to see if they can listen, "Hello? If this is a kink could you buy me a drink first?" Lance asked in a tone of innocent bewilderment, "At least should have a safe word... My votes on Krayt Balls." Lance suggested. Whether it was serious or not was left up to observers choice. Lance was already working on a plan B and/Or C if need be. Lance waited patiently for a response for the time being.

The file Cody had on this Lockhart, while admittedly thin, mentioned that he would not crack so easily. A lesser man would panic and beg for mercy when they discovered their situation. Well, at least that made Cody's job more interesting. The spy had no specific orders on what to do with Lockhart, his mission was to retrieve Doctor Kahoshi, preferably alive. The means with which he accomplished this task was left up to him.
The criminal was putting up a front for now, but Cody was interested in how his attitude changed after he baked in the heat for awhile tied up and alone. Even if he did not break, he would certainly start feeling the side effects of dehydration in short order. That alone made this exercise worth it.
Relaxing back in his chair, Cody poured himself a glass of ice cold water. The sooner he got off this garbage incinerator of a planet the better in his opinion, but if you wanted some things done correctly, you could not rush them. Sex was one, interrogations were another. In both, you had to take time and build the other person up to the state you wanted. A soft chuckle escaped at his thoughts.

Lance doesn't have much to go on at this point. He was getting thirsty. But with little activity from his captures. The sand storm didn't bother him. Of course the force field. Even if that wasn't up. He didn't have a fear of it. His slavery days were under harsher conditions. He even had to survive a few in a death match arena. There were even a few that had a heavy sand storm. One he remembered in particular where he fought a Tusken Raider for the final fight. Survived it. then just passed out for the day with the sand piling on top of him.
In this case however, Even with the sun out during the storm. He closed his eyes and just passed out. Dry lips and all. He would have to deal for the moment.
Well, there was hardly any struggle at all, how disappointing. Oh well, Cody would just have to move on to the next stage of his plans a bit earlier than expected. Getting up from his seat, the spy poured a glass of water from a nearby pitcher. Carrying the glass, he moved to the room where Lance had passed out. Opening the door, he pulled a chair into the room and entered.
Cody set the glass of water where Lance would see it, just out of his reach. The Imperial agent, dressed in a suit, then sat down in the chair he had brought. The heat did not seem to bother him despite the clothing, his eyes simply watched the captured criminal with an almost dead look.

Didn't initially wake up at first. Though the door opening did bring him into consciousness, Yet his eyes remained closed. Only pretended to still be a sleep. He herd a slight thud on a table then movement. Sort of a scuffle to sit in a chair. Lance opened one eye to see the glass of water. Closed his eye then opened both. Looking across from him was the Man. His captor. Dressed in black of all things, "You know," Lance started, "Black is a really bad color to wear in the heat, especially on this planet. Absorbs all the warmth to point of heat exhaustion,"
He continued in a taunting tone, "Might I suggest Bantha Poodoo brown. May reflect some of that daunting demeanor you have about you." Lance chuckled a little, "I jest friend. Lance is the name what can I do you for?"
Post by Cody Weadge on Mar 9, 2018 22:28:00 GMT -5
"What I am called does not matter," Cody replied with an emotionless voice. "What does matter, Lance Lockhart, is that you have something I want. As I always get what I want, the only real question is whether you give up immediately... or we spend some time getting to know each other."
Raising a leather gloved hand, he motioned to the glass of water he had set just outside Lance's reach. "Consider that your reward for when you give in."

"Well if you wanna get to know each other. I will need your name since you already know of mine." Lance replied, "At least buy me a drink rather than using it as a torture technique." Water was a great desire. He however didn't care to play this game. He was teased all the time for hydro. Passed off from owner to owner. Had bags of water held in-front of him before a big fight. Rather than give up hope he would just use it as anger to focus & take his enemies out. He later learned to never let any one see that they got to him.
"Your approach is all wrong Friend. I was just coming out of the bar. Should of bought me a drink then. Would of spilled my guts all over that floor & then some," he corrected his capture, playing captain hindsight, "Now you made it hard for your self. Now everything you do from here on out is gonna be a waste of time for you. Seriously whats your organization... Sith? Jedi? its Empire... Isn't it?" He let that linger to see if that got his attention, "Look if you really want to get to know each other you're gonna have to open up. Come one Blacky."

"I see," Cody replied gravely though his eyes held no emotion, "water does not interest you. Well, it seems we will be unable to come to an agreement. A pity."
Standing up, the spy picked up the water and quickly drained it. He then placed the empty glass back down beside Lance before turning to leave the room. Once he was through the door, he closed it and sealed the lock. Of course, the man was probably smart enough to know he was still being watched. Cody's point was simple: he was not willing to negotiate or talk.
Post by Lance Lockhart on Apr 4, 2018 1:06:32 GMT -5
"Aww come on you can't leave now. I was just about to ask what you wanted." Lance said condescending. With the door closed Lance leaned his head back & sighed. Not sure what else to do. He closed his eyes for a moment and focused. He reached out on his higher senses... Nothing. the drugs still have yet to wear off. He kept his eyes closed slowly playing it off like he was sleeping.
He needed more to work with. feeling around his person he realized his gauntlets were still on. No blaster though. He would have to sense out for that one later. He was careful to hope that this guy had no idea he was a force user. Though he felt it was a very slim chance. He need more time hoping to stall long enough for the drugs to filter out of his system & hope to Force he inject more. Or he'd be back to square one.
So there he laid with his eyes closed. Pretending to be a sleep. Maybe hoping long enough to get some of his will over the force back. If not he is going to have figure out another way. As Gib tried to teach him; Can't rely on anything or everything for too long.

Cody's prisoner appeared to be asleep, but the sensors he was using to watch the room spoke otherwise. Not that it mattered, the Imperial did not plan on leaving him alone very long. It was simply time for a change of tactics. Under normal circumstances, Cody would let the man enjoy the planet's weather for days or weeks to soften him up, but he did not have that kind of time.
This would require more... drastic measures.
Not long after Cody had left the room, he returned carrying a briefcase and a fold up table. Setting the table up, he placed the briefcase on top of the table and opened it. Lance would not be able to see the contents clearly, but the top of the briefcase clearly had two dozen syringes alternating in the color of their liquid. Taking the first syringe from the briefcase, Cody turned to his prisoner and injected it without a word.
Lance would feel the effects almost immediately as his body desperately tried to fall asleep. Before sleep could take him though, Cody grabbed the next syringe and injected that one in as well. Now Lance would feel the opposite. His heart would be racing, trying to pound its way out of his chest. His body would feel hot as if on fire, and his thoughts would seem rushed and unfocused.
"This treatment is very interesting," Cody said in his emotionless voice, no hints of actual interest present. "By alternating sedatives with stimulates the body of most sentient species struggle to keep up. The mind generates fear and anxiety trying to warn the person undergoing treatment that something is wrong. Of course, eventually, the heart simply fails. The number of rounds it takes seems to differ wildly as well. If you become more willing to cooperate you will not find out your limit. Otherwise, I will gain a new data point. Both would prove equally beneficial for me."
As he spoke, Cody repeated the treatment with another pair of syringes. This time the effects would feel even more pronounced to the bound man.

He was just about done expelling all of the drugs from his system. Then Lance gasped awake on the first injection. Looking to realize there was a needle in him. He felt woozy slowly blacking out again, "This injecssssstion better beee clllllean." his voice slured alittle. Then another prick he barely felt but the wave of rude awakening came after. He went wide eyes almost to the point of bulging out. He was barely keeping his calm. His breathing increase to intensity. Yet found he could keep it under wraps... For now.
He kept a strong focus. These drugs this man was injecting into Lance, was going to give his meditation technique a run for it's money. He took deep breaths to regulate everything. His heart felt like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off, "Look if all you wanted to do was get high, I know a guy. He has some stuff way stronger than this." he cracked before the man could speak about these injection & what they could do. Doing everything he could to keep calm. These injections were moving fast than he could filter them out.
As he listen on what they could do the best he could do to process while his body was going ballistic, "You are definitely Imperial sir." he he gasp knowing that this guy didn't have to confirm his suspicion. His obvious torture now ask questions later tactic. He was doing everything he could regulate the breathing further. He gave it time. while listening to what this Imp had to say. He respectfully let the man finish before Lance finally answer, "Say... please..." he rasped his breathing, "I just... might get you the Imperial discount... for using manners... So be a good boy... & just be polite... For a change... I know it's far fetched... for an Imp like your self..." He was slowly starting to filter the toxins in his body out. The force allowed him to pass the drugs through his system faster than normal. But it was still instense. he had his eyes closed for a minute while his breathing started reguate the rest of his body. But this time he braced himself for the next injection. The worse part of it he didn't know what kind of drug he would get next.

That Lance had identified Cody as an Imperial did not faze him. Whenever something bad happened people blamed it on the Empire, forgetting that there were plenty out there far more cruel than even Cody. This man had no real proof, and in the grand scheme of things whether he knew or not would not harm the Empire. The only thing that mattered now was the mission.
What caught Cody's attention was that the drugs did not seem to be having as strong an effect as expected. The intelligence said the man was human, but there were enough human looking near-humans the Imperial could not entirely rule out he was a diffrent species. That, or he had something else causing the drugs to be less effective. Watching Lance, his breathing did appear rather unusual.
Deciding he needed to test out his suspicions, Cody took two sedatives and injected them before returning with two of the stimulants and doing the same. The torture would not end until the man broke, or died, so Cody had to make sure what he was doing was actually effective.

TWO! Two? He used two on him. What would of been his last thought as he drifted & his world was a swirling black mist coming for him again. But that was short lived when he got hit with two more. The minute that entered his system he shot awake with a gasp. Eye wide open again. This time bloodshot. Liquid was leaking from the corners of his eyes. It seemed his eyes desperately wanted sleep. But the rest of his body desperately wanted to do something to expel all of this sudden burst of energy given to him. His heart was thumping so hard it might as well have been a frag ready to explode.
He knew the next one would be far worse he needed to do something before then. while focusing & continued to regulate his breathing. Slow deep breaths. Each breath he need to use the force to divert the foreign chemicals in his system. The only place he knew he could get it out the quickest. His lungs. The first few breaths he realized he was starting to get them out. So his next exhaled he directed it to his capture. Blew right into his face. All of the toxins in his body he could hold in one breath. He exhaled it right into his face. The toxins were now air born. Lance was hoping the now airborne toxins would find a friend to share the experience with.

Something was definintlywrong, Cody realized. While the drugs had seemed effective at first, the effect quickly lessened as the man breathed. The realization came too late though as the man breathed out and Cody smelled the chemical stentch on his breath.
The effects were not as quick, nor as potent when inhaled compared to a direct injection. That did not mean Cody was unaffected. Immediatlyhe realized this man must be a Force user of some type, there was no other explanation for what had just happened. Lance would not see the Imperial reacting, he still wore the same impassive look on his face. However he moved quickly now grabbing four of the sedatives from the suitcase and stabbing Lance directly in the chest rather than taking the time to carefully inject into a vein.
leaving the empty syringes still sticking out of Lance's chest, Cody stumbled backward as his mind could not longer fully control his body. Slumping against the wall he slid down to the ground and the cold seeped from his mind. Light returned to his eyes and his breathing became raggard. His training did not allow him to simply sit there though. Forcing himself to stand he yanked the syringes from Lance's chest and threw them into the suitcase. Grabbing the suitcase and table, Cody stumbled from the room barely making it back to his makeshift control center before his body sent him back down demanding he rest.

Success. It worked it was only a theory but he was able to put it into effect. Though this imperial had shown no expression of surprised. Lance knew he had gotten to this man. When he pulled out four... FOUR sedatives.... Lance knew even with his new found force ability he would not be able to fight that off and remain conscious.
Lance braced himself for the injection. If two worked fast. Imagine four just killing him. He flinched. & could not filter out the drugs quick enough. It was lights out for him. There was no way he could wake up in time to figure out a way to get out of this darkness.
His will however was different. He had every intention to stay alive and get out. To give him the hope he would survive this he dreamed. Visions galore. Nothing coherent for him to remember or interact with. But was his desperate attempt to fight his way to his consciousness. But it would never be in time when his capture would come to. He would wake long after his capture.

Cody's eyes snapped open suddenly, the drugs having passed from his system enough to let his mind once again take control. However, his eyes no longer held the soulless appearance they had when he was with his prisoner. Anxiety touched his face as he jumped up and looked at the camera feed, sighing as he saw the unconscious form. The sensors even showed he was still alive, which was a plus.
"His file didn't say anything about him being a Force-user," Cody complained to himself running a hand through his hair. "Man I hate sloppiness."
Taking a second to fix his suit, the Imperial agent considered his options. Against a Force user, there were considerably fewer at his disposal, but there was at least one that he could only do precisely because of the planet he was on. He would just have to be quick, lest his prisoner awaken first.
Leaving the building, he walked quickly to the nearby cantina. As most Tatooine cantinas were, this one was a hive of scum and villainy. In the corner was an alien he had identified in his reconnaissance as the local drug dealer. Taking out a credit chit worth a significant amount in local currency, he dropped it on the table before the alien.
"I need your entire supply of deathsticks."
The alien looked at Cody suspiciously, he was dressed far to nice for this particular dive but seemed satisfied once he checked the credit shit. He spoke in huttese as he gestured over his soldier. A few moments later a twi'lek appeared and deposited a ratty old bag where the credit chit had been. The Imperial glanced inside to confirm the contents, then left the cantina. About halfway back to where Lance was being held Cody stopped long enough to shoot and kill the thug the dealer had sent to rob him before continuing on. The dealer was predictable, and he liked predictable people. It made dealing with them easier.
Lance was proving to not be very predictable, which made Cody's job that much more difficult. One problem at a time though. Grabbing an IV kit and saline bag he had brought as part of the interrogation planning, he began injecting death sticks into the saline until it was at the appropriate mixture percentage. With practiced motions, the agent inserted the IV into Lance's arm and let the chemicals start flowing.
Deathsticks were one of the few ways to disrupt the Force that Cody knew of, making those taking it unable to connect with the Force. Cody did not really understand the mechanism since he lacked the Force personally, but all that mattered to him was that it was effective. Standing up straight, the life once again drained from his features leaving the blank mask from before. His preparations complete, Cody pulled out a pair of stimulates and injected them into Lance's arm.
"Time to wake up Lance," his emotionless voice called.

The Depths of the darkest parts of his unconscious mind was roused by the simple calling of his captures voice. His eyes were crusted from the leaks. Lips dry almost to the point of chapped & cracked. Then there was this toxic taste in his mouth. It wasn't the drugs he exhaled. This one had more tar to it. It disgusted him to point he wanted to hurl all over the man.
Which he gladly did. His stomach boiled throwing up his evenings dinner. Spewing projectile vomit & blood all in his captured direction. Which cause his stomach to squirmed & churned with pain. Which wanted to do so more. But there was nothing. But his body continued to push what ever was in his system out. What ever was in his body wanted it out. This time it was not a force technique. His own body was actively giving out. He was looking for the cause. Felt the prick in his arm. He looked over and saw the IV line. All evidence now made sense. Deathsticks. He hated these things.
He started to laugh. Which started as a chuckle. He slowly moved a maniacal laugh. He didn't care any more, "HAHAHAHahahahaha. OOooohhh MAN! I must really have gotten to you. If you're resorting to deathsticks." He took a deep breath. Then exhaled a good one, "Ahhh. Alright you've entertained me long enough. What do you want to know?"
Post by Cody Weadge on Sept 8, 2018 21:22:13 GMT -5
It was with silence that Cody watched Lance awaken from the drugs. The man's response to his sitatuioncertainly qualified as odd, but people did tend to act strangely when on deathsticks. The important thing was that he was finally willing to talk. The information would of course have to be verified at a latter date, but enhanced interogation techniques produced more accurate results than simple torture. It was likely the best Cody could get.
"You worked under a Captain Maverick recently," Cody returned in his deadpan voice. "During that time you abducted an Imperial scientist. My orginization is interested in purchasing her, we believe her to have information of value. Tell me where Maverick and the Imperial are. And do not bother lying, or I'll just be forced to pay you another visit."
He knew the crimminal already suspected that Cody was in fact an Imperial agent, but it never hurt to sow seeds of doubt. Given the emotionless delivery of the words, it would be impossible to tell if it was truth or fiction. When added to the fact that all the gear and clothing he was wearing had been obtained from non-Imperial worlds, nothing would remain to link his actions directly to the Empire.

Lance sighed when he was asked about Gib. He let the questions lingered for a moment before he answered, "First off, I have no reason to lie on behalf of that sorry fodder's excuse for a space pirate. Secondly, I haven't worked under that sorry fodder's excuse for a space pirate in over two years. And finally, what scientist? I didn't know you bred scientist." he mocked.
But his answers were sincere. It was true he had no intentions to lie about Gib. He respected the guy for freeing him slavery. but him and Lance had not been in contact in some time. Maybe a job here and there. so the part where he has not worked under him was true. But his last interaction with the Captain was months ago.
And in his mind seriously what scientist? What and how would he know about that. For sure he will have to meet up with Gib and give him an earful for bring his problems to Lances door step. If he gets out this mess he is in that is. The deathsticks would keep a good block on his focus on the force for now. So... plan B. He waited for a response from this Imperial interrogator. He needs the right opportunity.
