Welcome to Star Wars Refugees. It is easy to get started here, just make a character! Hopefully, you will find this thread answers all your basic questions about joining the board and if not just ask anyone and they will be happy to help.
Core Rules
These five simple rules apply to all sections of the board.
The board is rated R for violence and language. Per ProBoard rules, explicit sexual content is not allowed anywhere on the board.
Timeline
The Galactic Empire dominates the galaxy, the reach of its shadowy Emperor ever expanding. Against their tyranny of law and order, the Resistance fights to keep one step ahead of the Empire's agents lest they become just one more victim forgotten to time.
The sith of the Sith Order advance their own goals having made an alliance of convenience with the Empire. And underneath it all, the Galactic Underworld's smugglers, bounty hunters, pirates, and other criminals make a fortune from the suffering of others as they make friends and enemies among all the other powers.
----
At Star Wars Refugees the timeline is created by its members, never sticking to a specific year. We operate using a fluid timeline, which means that members do not need to limit themselves to RPs "in their timeline." It is not unusual for characters to be in threads that contradict each other, but to us, the most important thing is to have fun. In the end, each writer takes the aspects of their RPs that most represent where they want their character to do, and integrate that into their personal character timeline.
Joining a Faction
The factions available on SWR keep an ad in the HoloNet forum for your convenience. When you wish to join a faction simply request a faction here or if you are transferring from another board post here.
Factions here are different from other boards in that they are intended to be background noise. They are a community for like-minded characters to gather, but no one is forced to follow the party line.
Why are there two RP forums?
To allow more freedom in how members can RP, there are two forums. In Refugees Rolepaying faction members can develop their faction stories, compete with each other, or fight to the death. Stories written here leave a permanent mark on the board. Free Roleplaying is where characters can develop their stories without affecting their factions. Here, a thread is only as canon as the writers' want and are not affected by standard Faction RP rules.
And that's all the basics! Have fun!
Core Rules
These five simple rules apply to all sections of the board.
- Don't make me make more rules.
- No character may kill or maim another character unless both agree to it.
- Star Wars universe only (no cross-over roleplaying).
- No God-Modding. While the definition of god-modding varies from place to place, we will be following a common sense approach, including but not limited to being respectful of how powerful your character is. Force users are not wizards who can do anything, even at Master level.
- Treat everyone with respect and courtesy out-of-character.
