Parked in the Besh Gorgon system was the great city-station known as The Wheel. Parked in the executive sector of the station was a beautiful silver-and-blue chrome-colored Nubian J-7 barge. Parked a little further into the sector, with his metal-and-synthskin rear end rested on the plushest office chair he could find, was a Sith Knight.
The Knight in question was dressed like a character straight out of an old western. Lots of leather clothing, shiny knee-high boots, and spurs. In his metal hands was a 35 centimeter crystal cylinder, the most precious weapon he owned. It was his absolute favorite. Quite a shame that he hadn't had any occasion to use it in the last few months since his takeover of the station.
In fact, there was very little resistance to said takeover. Apparently, it was common for The Wheel's administration to be decided by gambling, and Rai's start in the seat of power had been much more peaceful than some of the bloody coups that took place in the station's history. The Shard had left his predecessor in charge of day-to-day operation while he learned more about his new home.
But for now, with nothing to do, he was just resting. There was a power cord connected to his metal skull that was recharging his power cells. It was kind of boring.

Mirien for her part had rarely had the chance to visit this system. Although that wasn't saying much given just how many systems there were in the galaxy, one could never see them all. Though for today the mysterious ice queen had come to the city-station known as the Wheel for the chance to refuel, gather supplies and the like before she moved on. For she soon planned to be on her way to Hapes for an extremely rare plant for her alchemy. Alchemy was her life, and what she had chosen to master, well among a few other things but that was her joy.
After getting clearance to dock, Mirien found little reason to hide her face from view as she usually did. Her choice of clothing was a bit different than usual as she wore a soft green velvet cape, clasped just below her neck, with its hood hanging back behind her ebony locks and well out of the way. Though while she wasn't hiding her face as was the norm with her, it didn't mean she wasn't up to playing her little games. Games, that was her other joy in life toying with those around her. After all, there were scant few she had ever found worthy of knowing her real name, much less who she could truly be.
Stepping off her ship, cape flowing behind with each step Mirien couldn't help but feel something was a bit off about the station as she moved a little further into the Wheel. Something odd enough that she found herself intrqued enough to explore further and worry about resuppling her ship later, after she worked out what seemed so unique.

As Kaz stepped into the halls of The Wheel, the scents of greed, addiction, and sex filled his nose. There were many places in the Galaxy to find pleasure, but few of them happened in such an enclosed space and despite the air scrubbers it was overwhelming enough to be intoxicating.
Moving through the crowd of people, his eyes darted from person to person hungrily like a predator looking for the weakest prey. It did not take long for a familiar scent to catch his attention, causing him to veer off to a different direction. It was a scent whose name he had not learned just yet.

There was a feeling that made Rai's eyes snap open. An unfamiliar presence in the Force. Maybe more than one? He'd never quite honed that part of his powers all that well. He knew the signatures of the Force-sensitives who lived aboard the station, though. This one wasn't one of those. His hand came up to unplug the power cord from his head, bemoaning for about the millionth time the loss of his HRD body's ability to grow hair.
As he walked outside of his office, he shoved his hat down on his head and looked around the hallway, as if the new presence would for some reason be up in the administrative sector. Of course they wouldn't be. He made his way to the lift that would bring him down to the port area, wondering who exactly was paying him a visit.

Now Mirien walked slowly through the station. Her eyes flicked this way and that scanning the areas around her, watching for both potential threats as well as what might be the possible source of the strange sensation that had drawn her further into The Wheel.
As she moved yet something... No, someone else familiar entered the picture. This time she recognized a familiar presence in the area and an actual smile spread across her lips. This one she remembered, a one known as Kaz. Oh, this day just keeps getting more and more intriguing.
For she had met him back at a lovely gathering of Sith and had started enjoyed a bit of a brief game with him, never letting him have her name while having a fun conversation about alchemy and life in general. Still though at the end, she left him without a name to call her for that had to be earned. And who knew, maybe today might be that day as it seemed the force may have drawn the pair back together.
So now she changed directions and started towards where she could sense him in the distance. For all this day was to be, a simple resupply, it was turning into something else entirely. As for what that was? Even she did not have a clue, but all of them were about to find out soon enough.
It didn't take long and she spied the Sith Master she was looking for. "Well now Kaz, you may quite possibly be the last person I expected to see this day when stopping in for a few things for my journey to Hapes. I have to admit it's not an unpleasant surprise in the least."
"Though," The dark-haired beauty said as she glanced from left to right with a bit of suspicion clearly written in her eyes. "There is something a little off about this place. I've yet to put my finger on it for the moment. I'm sure you have sensed it too, yes?" She asked as she lifted a single eyebrow. It seemed reintroductions Mirien was going to skip. It was just wasted time to her, which was why she had simply moved into the conversation without waiting for him to reply.
"Any thoughts?" While Mirien was speaking she naturally stepped closer reaching with care to stroke behind the ears of one of his pets. With her love of animals and alchemy, she could hardly resist that particular temptation. Got to love such creatures. The woman thought to herself.
A feral grin spread across Kaz's face when he saw the woman approaching him. It was not often he found another sith interesting, in fact, most of them proved to be fairly carbon copy to each other. The nameless woman as a fellow alchemist, however, was very interesting.
It did not hurt that she was quite attractive.
"I go where the Force takes me," he said. "I have learned over the years that it often takes me to the most interesting places, and to reconnect with people I have encountered before. Though now I think my next visit will have to be to Hapes."
An almost manic chuckle followed his words, then suddenly cut off. "There is something off on this station though. I suspect another like us, though I do not recognize this one."
Rai's path towards the presence he sensed was obstructed by a few hundred of his rich patrons, who just really didn't seem to know how to move out of the way. Completely exasperated, he abandoned subtlety and shoved his way through the crowds as he ran. He didn't quite know why he felt such urgency, but whoever he was looking for was at least as strong as he was. Either they were a threat to try and eliminate, or they had some business and his haste would be rewarded.
Which one the two oddly dressed people he found were, he couldn't tell. The Shard composed himself as he walked up to them, attempting to act as if he hadn't just run across a whole sector of his own station. His mechanical hands slipped into his pockets, revealing his lightsaber's hilt as his coat was pushed away from his waist.
"Rarely does one guest bring so many animals here. It was quite a shock for my security."

Kaz turned as he felt the presence approach, and his eyes widened slightly. What he saw was clearly a droid of some sort, with some kind of human pseudo-skin barely holding to it. That was strange, machines could not have the Force. In all his centuries this was a new experience for Kaz.
"I thought they deserved to experience the pleasures of the station themselves," he said putting his hand on the massive head of the tuk'ata after the droid spoke. "Besides, it would have been... unfortunate for your security if they had grown hungry."

Mirien turned and lofted a brow as she too finally found the source of the oddity she had been feeling all along. Now, this makes things quite entertaining. A droid, but had the force? There had been rumors of such creations, through mystical living crystals but never had she seen one before. Of course, the glint of the saber on his waist did not go unnoticed and the icy woman assumed quickly that whatever this being was it had to have had at least some type of training to wield a weapon such as that. Small details, but they were details that mattered in Miri's mind.
Her hand was still upon the beast nearest her, stroking its ears ever so sweetly. "A shock? Why I do find that surprising." Mirien said with a grin, "For they are beautiful creatures that don't deserve to be cramped up on board a ship while in port. I also imagine it makes them rather cranky at that too." Her gaze turned back to the droid, "Which is not something I would wish upon any soul. Well, maybe a couple souls I just might .... nonetheless I'm sure you get the idea."
She sighed as the smile soon faded from her lips as she withdrew from the beast, and all her attention turned to the newcomer. "Now you are an interesting being, if I may say so, Mister?" Here she was hoping to get a name and any other details it might offer up freely. For such a fascinating find like this always sparked her curiosity.
"My security's better than you'd guess. This is the Wheel, after all. Not that I'd ever set them on your pets."
Rai smiled at the 'pets', as he'd called the small menagerie of dangerous animals, thinking of his three nexu who now spent their days tromping around the upper floors of the station while they waited for their master to stop being boring and play with them. Cutting off that thought, he turned him smile on the woman who'd questioned his origin.
"Oh, come now, if I just told you it'd be boring. Not that I'm a particularly interesting specimen, myself."
He gestured towards the man, who seemed a little shocked at his host's mechanical appearance.
"Unlike you, your friend hasn't made a guess, I'm afraid. Maybe a jaunt through some of the less... public areas will give him a clue or two?"
"Oh, we're playing a game?" Kaz asked with a chuckle. "I do so enjoy games. Especially when they involve removing clothing."
As Kaz followed the man deeper into the station, it took only a cursory testing with the Force to determine he really was a droid. As only living creatures could use the Force, that meant there was something inside the droid that was living. There were many smaller aliens that might choose to use a droid as a vehicle, but the droid's form did not appear to allow a creature to enter and leave.
There were one species he had read about during his alchemy studies around three hundred years prior that fit though, a Force-using being that would have no need to enter and leave the droid body. "A shard are you? I do wonder how alchemy would affect you. Yes, that sounds like a most interesting experiment. Perhaps that can be my reward for winning the game?"

There might have been a small chuckle from Mirien as Kaz mentioned removing clothes and game in the span of a sentence or two, "That does seem rather like you, Kaz." With that, she shook her head, and her focus returned to Mr. Blitz, their new companion .... well for the moment until events and the like separated them or one of them turned a blade on another. All quite within the realm of possibility given the trio standing there. The trio, and the beasts, one could never forget about them for little could be more dangerous than to forget about alchemized beasts hanging around.
Mirien then shrugged nonchalantly, "I suppose that would my evening a little less interesting, but 'hey guy with the very fancy hat', isn't exactly the easiest thing to call you. And Mister feels ... well, makes one feel old, doesn't it?"
She gave a glance to Kaz, "Funny how we seemed to have been thinking along such similar lines... Shards. Never saw one in person, heard of them sure ... However meeting one, nope. One thing is for certain, it does ..." The ebony haired ice queen smiled an odd little smile as she turned back to the strange mix of organic, and mechanical being, "Make you an intriguing specimen if you are in fact a Shard. It's enough anyway to make me hang around to at least play a little of this particular game."
Shifting the dark green cloak on her shoulders, she turned to follow the pair, "But let's see what this little station has in store. I do so always love to see what makes one tick beneath the surface. For that is where you get to the real truth of the matter, of who or what it is. So, by all means..." She motioned for the being to go on ahead, "Lead the way, and let's make ourselves merry along the way. 'Tis what company is for, yes?" She asked, almost inquisitively. The odd shard creature did have her at least curious enough to follow, curious enough to see what was behind the scenes of the Wheel that went on when no one else was looking.
The Sith turned to give the man following him an apologetic half-bow.
"I regret, though, that you will not be allowed to experiment on me anytime soon. There are certain elements of this station that might fare poorly without my eye on them."
Raijin started to walk away again, having located the security lift he'd been searching for. The doors were open and a gaudily decorated (and clothed) B2 battle droid was standing watch in front of them. Like Rai, he had a lightsaber at his belt, albeit of a completely different design. He bowed to the three Sith.
"Lord Raijin, I was about to inform you that lunch is being served."
"Excellent, Rom. We'll be taking our guests and their friends down with us."
"As you say, my lord."
The Shard gestured towards the lift, grinning at the other two Sith.
"This is the fun part. Guests and animals first, please."
"A pity," Kaz said when the droid said he could not experiment. "Please do let me know when you are free. It would be a shame not to do some testing."
The Sith chuckled as if saying he wanted to experiment with someone was just a normal reaction. Though for him, that was because it was. Of course, it was not out of malice, he just saw it as advancing Sith Alchemy, which was naturally the noblest goal a person could have. If someone had to give up their life for that advancement, well they should feel honored at the opportunity.
Even Kaz's current body was just another alchemical experiment.
"Lunch?" Kaz asked with a bead of saliva dripping from the corner of his mouth. "Now that you mention it, I am famished. I do hope you have plenty of fresh meat?"

A curious smirk spread across the brunette’s lips. “Have to say it’s a pleasure to meet one of your kind. Such a rare treat it would seem.” Now she did have to wonder what exactly this being’s plan was, and just what was behind the scenes of the station in which they now walked.
She gave a sidelong glance at Kaz, lifting an eyebrow as she did so. “In the name of the advancement of the alchemical arts, I must agree. For you must let someone run some tests eventually. Because it would allow a few more mysteries of the Universe to unfold for us all. Who knows what could be learned, what could be advanced with just a little knowledge of Shards like you.” Of course, there was no guarantee that said Shard would survive the experiments, but she wasn’t about to mention that aloud. For that would be rather … impolite.
As they came to the lift, Mirien caught sight of the saber the B2 droid was carrying. As eccentric as its dress style may have been, that was a secondary concern to the frigid brunette. For the time being while quite curious, she was still incredibly on guard and alert, waiting for an attack to come at any moment.
Unfortunately, it was always the moment one let their guard down for a fraction of a second that such an opportunity would be used to the opponent’s advantage. And this … shard, she did not trust. Though, there were few in the galaxy at all that she had ever trusted. So perhaps that was more normal than anything else.
Stepping into the lift, she positioned herself carefully as not to expose her back to the others present. While she liked Kaz enough, considered him to at least be friendly enough to have her back should things go badly, she still had her issues with leaving her back open to anyone. It was a vulnerability she didn’t like and wasn’t about to leave open if she could avoid it.
“So, Mister .. Raijin, is it? Why don’t you tell us more about this place? As it’s clear you’ve been running it for a good while now.” She observed as she folded her hands neatly behind her back, waiting for the lift to come to its destination.
"Shards without bodies are glorified lightsaber crystals in the first place. A friend of mine once said we were about as interesting as shiny pebbles."
Rai shrugged lazily at the thought, deciding that getting off the subject of very likely lethal experimentation was probably a good idea. He waved a hand at Rom, who was humming to himself as the turbolift descended.
"My friend and I are not unique aboard this station. Rom is an old student of mine, along with several others among the Wheel's current administration."
The Shard smiled and bent to pet one of the critters his guests had brought with them.
"The Wheel is now a Sith holding. A place for the rebirth of the Order to start. You can judge for yourselves how well I've done."
"How fascinating," Kaz said earnestly, "not just one, but several shards are aboard the station? Can you easily transfer between host droids? Just think of all the places a sith trained shard could go disguised as a non-combat droid."
As Blitz reached down to pet the beast, it looked at the hand as if trying to decide if it was edible or not. Since Kaz had not given it a command to attack, it assumed the droid was not food... yet at least, and patiently accepted the pet. Kaz was paying more attention to Mirien, mostly coming up with guesses for her name.
"As for places to train new sith, I cannot think of many better. Pleasures and debauchery breed the best of our kind!" Another deep laugh took over Kaz at his words. He was not a man that saw the way of the sith as conquering and killing any in his way. It was not seeking power to defeat his foes. Being a sith was living as he wanted, and doing as he wanted. Passion, as the code said, had let the Force set him free.
