A call had gone out to all the members of the Sith Order to meet at their Ruusan temple on pain of death. It had been all mysterious and foreboding, though did not seem to mention who would be dealing out the aforementioned death.
The threat of death itself held little meaning to Kaz really. It still seemed like an interesting way to pass the time so he had shown up.
That was why he currently sat on the ground leaning back against one of his tuk'ata pets. His feet were propped up on his alchemically altered vornskr, and as he saw he was concentrating on an upheld hand. Occasionally the bones of his fingers would break through the skin forming sharp claws. Then he would frown at them and they would slide back forming normal fingers again.
Repeating this process idly, Kaz waited for more sith to arrive at the temple's meeting ground.

The threat of death was never really a concern. Few people were aware the dark lady existed, and personally, she liked to keep it that way. Drawing unnecessary attention to herself, and her skills would have been unwise in the current state of the galaxy. She loved her freedom, her privacy to work on her personal agenda. The rest of the Sith and the galaxy could burn for all she cared, so long as she had her little quiet corner carved out, and left alone. Her loyalties were only to herself. She had little recent at present to care much for anyone else around her.
Still, she did find herself a touch curious as to what the Sith Order had deemed so important to call them all here, to air the threat too. It must have been important, or at the very least interesting.
The alchemist mistress finally entered the meeting grounds. And from beneath a dark hooded cloak, she lifted an eyebrow when she spotted Kaz's 'pets.' To her, it was a nice choice, a nice touch. For now, she chose not to speak as she found a place to rest comfortably while she waited for the others that were bound to arrive soon. Tucking her legs and feet underneath her, she finally shifted into a comfortable position, leaving her hood on and up for the time being.

As the robed figure entered the vornskr brought its head up, its nose working the air. Through their connection, Kaz could sense its smell. The scent of a human female.
His interest piqued, Kaz shakily stood. While walking to her, his movements were jerky as if he was not in full control of his arms and legs. Finally, he reached the woman stopping only just short of her. Leaning down, he attempted to look under her hood.
"You smell sweet my dear, I do wonder what you are hiding under that hood."

Mirien lifted a brow, watching as Kaz moved towards her. Still, beneath her hood, she cocked her head to the side, thinking for a moment as a smirk spread across her lips. "Now where would the fun be in that?" She asked, almost playfully. "Perhaps if you prove interesting I may let you see what lies beneath." The game had begun. And Mirien certainly loved her games. This was bound to make the evening enjoyable.
She motioned to a spot next to her, "Why don't you and your pets sit, and we shall talk?" A certain dark happiness radiated from her aura. Maybe this day wouldn't be such a bore as she had thought. "The tuk'ata, vornskr are a nice touch. A shame most Sith today don't understand the fine arts of such creatures. They lack the sophistication that is required, I think. Yes?"
As she spoke of them the beasts came up on either side of Kaz, and he placed a hand on each of their heads affectionately. From her words it was obvious she was like him, one who sought the ancient knowledge. Instantly his interest in this woman increased.
"Ah, a fellow practitioner of the alchemical arts are you? Too few see the potential. Just think, an entire Galaxy of creatures like these two. Creatures with greater strength, speed, intelligence. Creatures immune to sickness. The short sighted only see the Sith arts as a way to increase their own power. Shortsighted."

"Naturally. It makes the reward of victory all the sweeter, don't you think?" The brunette settled back onto her heels, making herself more comfortable all while keeping her hood securely up to obscure her face for the time being.
"Yes." She replied softly. "It requires a subtle strength that few can ever see. A precise application of power that is beyond most. It's something akin to being able to read the tiniest of ripples and currents in an ocean, while the majority of Sith can only ride the waves unable to influence and understand the waters beneath their feet."
Mirien shrugged, "Most folks that I've noticed in the galaxy as a whole are short sighted and incapable of seeing the larger picture."
She looked to his pets again, "Alchemy has always been my primary interest and where my talents seem to lie within. I've only recently come to working with beasts. I had been exploring Alchemy with regards to solely enhancing one's body, weapons, and the like."

"You, you I like," Kaz said with a toothy grin.
"I came about things the opposite way, I was born with an innate talent for touching the minds of beasts. However, once I discovered alchemy I have devoted my all to it."
Letting the dark side flow through his body, his skin shifted becoming leathery in places. His pupils narrowed like an animal's. Like before his fingers distorted into claws. Then grabbing the Force, Kaz used alchemy to return his body to normal. "This body is a bit more stubborn than they usually are."

A slight upturn at the corner of her lips was a sign she was genuinely interested in the Sith in front of her. Unlike so many that had come before him, this creature seemed to have a brain. Mirien had previously thought she was just one in all the trillions and trillions of people in the galaxy that held this particular manner of thought.
She bowed her head ever so slightly understanding where he was coming from. "Those kind of gifts are exceedingly rare, even among those that are blessed with the Force." It certainly was an unusual trait that he had. One that did make her a touch more curious about Kaz. He was different, unique among the Sith Order it seemed. And Kaz was different enough that the brunette was intrigued to learn more.
She watched the change in him as his skin shifted along with his eyes. "I can understand that. These mortal bodies are fragile, delicate things. Even the slightest of imbalances within can drastically change them. Now whether that is for the better, or the worse only Fate gets to decided that."
A sincere smile had formed on the Ice Queen's lips. "It seems my dear, that you are one of only a handful of creatures in the galaxy that I have found that does not bore me. That in itself is quite the accomplishment. Making me intrigued enough to want to know more about you, doubly so."
Settling back in her seat, legs tucked neatly beneath her. "So maybe we can have a small trade, eh? I'll let you see what is under my hood, in exchange for your name." It seemed a fair exchange for her. As for her name, she was likely to make him wait a little longer on that and get him to work just a little bit more for it.
Post by Kaz Valnor on Feb 11, 2017 22:27:09 GMT -5
When she said he did not bore her, Kaz began to laugh madly. A laugh that went on too long to belong to someone entirely sane. Once the laughter stopped, he gave a great flourishing bow that brought his head level with his waist. "I am pleased to have entertained you milady."
Standing back up he brushed his long black hair back from his face. "Centuries ago I was given the name Kaz Valnor by the ones you would call my parents, though I was also known as the Prophet. Among other names. Kaz is a suitable enough name as any these days."
While some said names had power, Kaz has always found the power in not having a name. He assumed new identities as easily as other people breathed, whatever best let him blend into his environment. In a sith temple, surrounded by other sith, falsifying his identity did not seem useful.
The Ruusan temple. A dark and foreboding place, designed to intimidate and demoralise. It was a place steeped so much in the Dark Side that it was literally dark - light growing dim and faint in it's hallowed halls. An utter pain to deal with, even with low light vision. He had banged his shins against low level pedestals and fallen columns on more than one occasion here. All the more reson to move on.
The Sith had to move on. From clawing at faded glories and symbolic places. There was strength in ritual, yes. But currently, all the Sith Order was, was a reflection of the Jedi. And that was just...wrong. Strength did not grow from order. It grew from chaos. It grew from overcoming challenges on one's own merits. And it seemed to have fallen on him to make sure things did not completely fall apart.
The galaxy was changing, and they would change with it.
He stepped out of the temple, the his sight momentarily overwhelmed by the sudden brightness of Ruusan's day, before casting his gaze down towards the meeting grounds. There were so few Sith present. Ah well. Those who heeded the call would be suitably rewarded for their efficiency. Those who had tarried...would be left behind.

Mirien grinned seeming quite amused with the situation. It had been the least expected possibility that wasn't exactly in er plans. She'd relied on mystery, laying low and allowing oh so few to even dream of getting passed her defenses to know the real her.
"Mmm Kaz, not a common name."She idly commented as she reached up and slid the hood back from her face revealing the lovely brunette beauty with a genuine smile on her lips.
Though her smile and amusement did not last. She had felt another at the very fringes of her senses. "We have company now." Subtly yet quickly she scanned the area looking to see just who they might be dealing with this evening.

"My, even lovelier than I expected," Kaz said when she removed her hood. "Such a shame to hide behind a cloak."
Even as she mentioned a newcomer, the heads of his beasts twisted to face the man she mentioned. Their noses worked the air, but the smell was not familiar. He was a sith, but given their location that much was a given so not particularly useful.
"Hmm, perhaps this is the one that called us here. I do hope his reasoning is interesting, if not these two are feeling a bit peckish..."

You know it, I know it and the Force knew it before anyone else! Emilia Shields was on the planet Ruusan while her master Lady Death was on her own mission and she was taking care of herself because she was awesome! She didn't eat only candy every day, instead she baked cookies! She baked sweet cookies, but also healthy cookies! That was really dark! She made healthy cookies and if she deceived someone to eat it! They would actually eat healthy! She got an invitation, but the one that took it on was Emilia herself!! How fun could it be to meet other people like the Rach! Miss Rach was always super kind to her and was like a mother figure!
When Emilia appeared at the academy, she heard vague voices. Her connection with the force was not near strong enough and this allowed her to enter with only a cold breeze that would constantly crawl over her skin. She wore the basic Sith Acolyte clothes, being covered in black which wasn't exactly her color, she wore a little blue bow in her hair. A single sith guard followed the girl inside of the room, while she held her little teddy bunny on her left hand, "Hello!! I have come to represent Miss Rach~" She spoke with her adorable voice, her eyes looking around, scanning the room. Only three people and they were all old!
Keter rolled his shoulders, letting his red eyes focus on the three gathered figures. A child, a mand, and a woman. Hmm. Symbolic. The blond noted how he caught their attention - didn't seem like they had been waiting long, but the man and the woman had already begun to scheme. Heh, cute. Keter adopted a polite smile and nodded at the little gathering.
"Greetings, brothers and sisters in arms. Your prompt arrival does you credit - too many of our kind see the titles bestowed upon them as pass to act however they please, as if they are free from obligation. The Order has invested too much in all of you to simply let you do as you will." There, a nice bold opening. One that would probably have them laugh at him, but that was fine. Sith only became subservient to those who proved their power. Such was the way of things. THough he had to applaud Rach's political ploy, sending a representative. A nice little show of power that elevated her over the other two arrivals, but something he would turn against her easily enough.
A representative did mean she didn't find this whole affair worth her personal attention after all.

Ruusan. A planet which she had not yet visited, though she had heard mention of it from her mother while she was growing up. The very novelty of experiencing it for herself was what drew her to the world at first, but upon arriving in the unmarked shuttle she typically used for travel, the darkness on the world called to her. For this reason alone, even if other factors presented themselves, was she keen on staying and exploring.
It took roughly two dozen minutes to find her way to the Temple her mother had told her about decades ago - it was slow going even with the small light source she'd brought, and less than a handful of minutes to wander into the room where the two men, the woman, and the child were. A bit of amusement flickered through her at seeing an actual child here, but Caiera paid them no mind as her gaze lingered on the walls while she slowly walked the perimeter of the room, one hand trailing over them as she moved. Touching history, as it were.
If confronted, and it was more than likely that this would occur, from what she had heard of the Sith from her mother, she would yield her own reason for being here. But it remained to be seen what would happen next, as her interest in the history of this place was still occupying the majority of her attention.

"I just happen to like my privacy, and the ability to go about unnoticed." That was at least her reasoning for it, for the time being. Keeping herself from sticking out, and being noticed had kept her life neat and tidy without Imperial interference.
"We can only hope." She whispered to him as they were joined by a couple of others.
Mirien lifted a brow as her attention was momentarily drawn to the young woman that joined them. Rach, a name she didn't recognize. But then again her even being on the same world with another Sith was a rare incident.
Her eyes briefly wandered to the newest latecomer. She watched just for a moment to see what the girl was doing here. Touching history, she recognized that that did make this one more interesting to Mirien but felt no need to raise a question to the young woman for now. After all her care for other Sith was minuscule at the best of times. Her focus then shifted back to Keter.
"And we are to believe that your someone we should listen to, take orders from? Last time I checked the Sith Order didn't give a damn about what any of us did. There's enough interference from the Empire. The last thing I want is another party poking around what is frankly none of their business."
Post by Kaz Valnor on Feb 23, 2017 22:27:19 GMT -5
At the newcomers, Kaz's beats stalked forward noses working. The tuk'ata circled the little girl smelling the strange food she had brought while the vornskr watched the powerful newcomer. While aware of their actions, Kaz acted as if he did not see it.
"How entertaining. Someone so young dictating what it means to be in the Order. You, who did not even exist when it was formed. Please, tell us how you believe a 'proper' Sith should act."
As he spoke, Kaz gave a wide sharp-toothed grin. Rather than provocation, he actually looked genuinely entertained by the man's words. It seemed whether he fed the man to his beasts or not depended on whether Kaz became bored.
Keter grinned, nodding along to their retorts. Unsurprising. Sith were all about strength. That strength tended to breed arrogance. An unforutnate but inevitable side effect. The blond nodded Mirien Valdier, making a show of agreeing with her words.
"Frankly, the Order doesn't care much for what you do indeed, as long as you do not make us have to deal with you. Of course, it would be easier to organise ourselves than merely running loose throughout the galaxy like a pack of wild dogs. I merely propose a new direction. I'm sure you all noticed the lack of...effectiveness, plaguing the Order. Our numbers are nearing extinction once more, and I grow tired of being little better than Mandalorians. We are not mercenaries. We are not tomb robbers. We are Sith. And you at least act like it."
Keter let his red gaze swing over to Kaz Valnor, smirking. "Neither did you."
He rolled his shoulders and sighed, letting the data being displayed by his eyes drift past his gaze. So bold, agreeing to turn up at a meeting place of his choice. He had expected more wariness. Still, they were powerful, powerful enough to potentially shrug off any tricks he could throw at them. Good. This wouldn't be as effective if it were easy. "Still, we are no Jedi to mince words. You are either with me or against me. If you wish to go and prepare yourselves, then go. If you believe the Sith are destined for more, stay. If you wish me to prove myself, then you are welcome to try."
Post by Mirien Valdier on Mar 3, 2017 18:18:29 GMT -5
Mirien shrugged ever so slightly. She wasn't all that impressed at this point. "The facts are these: I don't trust you. Until today, I'd never heard of you, not even through the extensive network of contacts that I've personally developed over the years."
She sighed, pondering her next words for a moment. "I'm not opposed to giving you the benefit of the doubt. At least for the moment until you prove it otherwise. Now proving yourself to us? I have no desire to fight you, not here, not now. That's far from my intent. All I wish for is for you to prove you are worthy of the task. My trust and loyalty can be earned in time. I won't just give either of those on a mere whim. I'd like to see your actions for us, with us to prove your intent. For actions speak far louder than words."
"So work for it, show us and sure I can get behind that. However, for now, I am wary and doubtful." She admitted honestly. Pretty words with veiled intentions were never her thing. She'd much rather speak her mind exactly without sugar coating an ounce of it. "But as I said before you have the benefit of doubt from me. The others can speak their own minds; this is just what I believe."
Post by Caiera Arkelion on Mar 14, 2017 14:56:09 GMT -5
The remark about youth caught Caiera's attention, however briefly, eliciting a brief moment of silent amusement that didn't reach her face, before the other woman spoke. The lightly armed and equally lightly armored young (for her species, at least) woman merely turned in place to face the others, pointed briefly at Mirien after she had spoken, and silently indicated her opinion matched that of the one voiced by the seated Sith, by way of a brief moment of appreciative applause.
And then she went back to studying the room, without turning away from the group.
Post by Kaz Valnor on Mar 15, 2017 20:55:35 GMT -5
"I have seen countless of these 'orders' rise and fall over the centuries," Kaz said grinning in amusement. "And always a new fool comes along claiming theirs will last forever. In the end, all that truly remains is the Sith faith."
A deep chuckle escaped him before he continued speaking. "But I agree with my beautiful friend here. A fight here would be boring. Please, entertain me. Let me see another fool reach for god-hood."
Keter was quiet as he considered their words. The blond nodded, reaching for a communicator on his belt. "Very well then. The remenants of the Order and it's allies are mine. I have a plan in the works to establish a more...stable foundation, but since you are unwilling to partake, you may go in accordance to the laws of meeting that were laid down. But know this - you shall no longer be considered members of the Order."
He turned away from them then. "If there is nothing else, then begone. You have until sundown to vacate my planet."
The blond would bring them to heel in time. In truth, they would either submit or be destroyed. For all their power, they would be devoured by the Empire when the time came. Unless they put aside their petty egos and actually focused on the problems facing them. Or perhaps things would be better that way - let them be slain by the Inquisitors. Then they wouldn't be able to pollute the Order anymore with their outdated ideals.
Keter smiled. A pity. He had been looking forward to seeing their reactions to his plan.

"Did you not hear me? Or just took what you wanted to hear from my words to twist to justify yourself?" The ice queen snapped more than a touch irritated. "Now if you simply misunderstood, fine I can get that. But for the star's sake, that was not what I meant, at all. And I'm only irritated now because you apparently did not listen. And nothing annoys me more than when someone can't give me that simple courtesy." For being as upset as she was, her voice remained rather calm, cool and collected.
She sighed getting up slowly, taking a breath to calm herself a little bit. "Since you missed my meaning I'll explain it in greater detail. The benefit of the doubt just means that I don't trust you at this point, but I'm willing to hang around and see what you do. Do you know what that means? I was willing to work with you. But you did not hear that, did you? And made assumptions on what you thought you heard from me. Because it's quite clear you entirely misheard or misunderstood me. It's one or the other."
She shook her head not believing how they got to this point. "If you follow through, then my trust and loyalty can be earned in time. I just expect you to demonstrate you are capable of the task, and therefore my trust and loyalty. Which is what any sane person would want. So far is there any part of what I've said that you don't understand, so that I may remedy that?" The woman was a touch calmer now, though no less irritated.
Mirien crossed her arms over her chest, "I was being completely honest with you, not in the least lying or masking my intentions. I said what I said so you knew exactly where we stood with one another so we could be on even ground there. I thought you would appreciate the honesty that is so rare in the galaxy. Apparently, I was wrong." The brunette said as she pinched the bridge of her nose for a moment, more than a little annoyed with him.
"Now I gave that benefit of the doubt with the only condition being; show me that you are worthy of the task, through your actions of beginning to carry out your plan. I was merely trying to be blunt, and to the point, as I feel zero reasons to mask how I feel. I don't play those games. At all. If you don't want to take that opportunity and aren't willing to work with me and meet me halfway, then I have no reason to be here."
"Threats, because I won't bow and kiss your ring this very instant? Oh how low we've fallen to be at this point forgetting class and manners. There's no one in the galaxy who will give allegiance to another without knowing the person they are giving to are worthy of it."
"I meant what I said, every damn word. I have no interest in fighting with you. So maybe next time, consider the words of others carefully. They don't always mean what you think they do. Unless there has simply been a grave misunderstanding, I'll withdraw what I said."
"Now, if what I've said is not sufficient; that I was willing to work with you, so long as you worked with me, it's not my problem, it's yours. And I'll take my leave."

Discipline had long been ingrained in Caiera's being, so hearing the reactions from the two men and the other woman elicited nothing from her, aside from her gaze shifting in their direction, and a slow blink accompanied by a thin, expressionless smile as she watched to see how things played out. Though within the sanctity of her innermost thoughts, the young daughter of Sara Arkelion saw what her mother meant about Sith internal politics being rather black and white at times, and this privately amused her. But none of her train of thought showed on her face as she continued observing the others, now that they'd actually done something to drag her attention away from the walls.
She ahd been willing to work alongside him, to wait and see. Not good enough. Besides, what he wanted was an excuse. He wanted a dispute, a fight. No. He wanted a war. The Sith were born from conflict, nurtured by it. They improved thanks to it. He would take blade and fury to their carefully constructed facades of superiority. THe blond sighed. He was going to have to break the Order and make it anew. There was no fixing the mire of politics they had found themselves in.
Of course, that left him arrayed against the machinations of those who had power and would keep it for themselves. A united front was necessary against the Empire. And no dissent could be allowed to distract them. Unless those who had gathered moved swiftly, and struck him down, there was only one way this was going to go.
Civil war.
Hmmm. He had some calls to make. Best be prepared and all that.
