How the Imps Stole Life Day (Holiday event Open to All)

Keep moving Nat, gotta keep moving. She reminded herself as she clambered through the darkened slimy passages. Things had for the moment grown a little quieter, and Natsumi wasn’t exactly certain as to why but chose not to question it too much. For the silence couldn’t have been a good thing. Breathing was growing more excruciating and difficult for her, and she decided that maybe now, while things appeared quieter, calmer that she should assess her injuries as best she could on the move. Namely that pain from her chest.

Still moving as quickly as she could manage she did with one hand started to feel over the area and soon found the source with a hiss of pain. At least one rib seemed to be pushing against her flesh from the inside, threatening to break through. Oh, that can’t be good. It was just one more thing to worry about and under the circumstances that was the last thing she needed. What a brilliant idea, a small act of rebellion… and this is what it gets you, fething moron. Broken ribs, a head and jaw injury… Just lucky, so lucky to even be breathing at this point .. and even that isn't guaranteed for long! She snapped internally at herself, growing angry for how things had turned out. Of course, it was all her own fault and she knew it.

The Atrisian was doing the best she could just to keep moving. The nature of the sewer more than made it difficult. Though she knew if she was having trouble, then it was more than likely that her pursuers were too. Not that it gave her any room to breathe at all, but at least it was a tiny comfort in that moment.

Though those pursuers she had no idea just how close they were behind her. All she knew is that those footfalls echoing through the stone passages belonged to them, and they certainly didn’t seem that far off. Before she could even dream to pause or think through just how far they might be behind her, the blaster shots from behind clarified that real fast! Nat barely managed to round the corner as they whizzed past.

That same chamber Natsumi entered moments before the Imperials did, hot on her trail. Though for the moment it seemed they were distracted by the bizarre sight. But Nat wasn’t about to let this opportunity for distance and space between her and her pursuers pass her by. Trying to make as little noise as possible, the tiny woman slipped carefully through the area as not to disturb the beasts and headed down a side tunnel away from the grouping of creatures.

At this point, Natsumi had no idea where she was, or where she was going. This had long slipped out of the realm of what she knew of Naboo. Sewers were just not something she had a great grasp on. And well, they had seemed like a good way to escape at the time, but alas that lack of knowledge on entrances and exits was bound to bite her in the butt soon enough.

More shots suddenly pierced the darkness, so close to Nat now that it took everything in her not to shriek at the near miss. This was getting far too close for comfort. Now moving along as fast as her feet could carry her, she was nearly blind in the dark, from those last shots alone. The light blinding, screwing with the adjustment her eyes had made. In the process with temporarily being blinded once more, Natsumi lost grip on the bag she had managed to cling onto ever since that moment in the square that got her into this mess. That bag that contained her teacup, along with a host of other ornaments and items that she had been carrying all along and in it a few very important documents had been tucked away, all written in ancient Atrisian. These items definitely were not something she was carrying by accident, no. Not at all. Not when they were key elements to a rebellious plot.

Coming around a bend, the Atrisian halted in an instant as she ducked into an alcove. Ahead she could hear someone, something. She wasn’t sure. But the whine of a blaster being armed told her all she needed to know. Fething A! She had been cut off. Trapped between two groups of hostiles and no clear way out.

Apprehensive and terrified, Natsumi glanced between both paths. There was no clear way out, and definitely no easy solution. Either way, she chose, she was going to have to fight her way out, and that was the last thing she had really wanted to do today. Fighting had always been a last resort for her. While she knew at heart it was sometimes necessary, she certainly didn’t like doing so. Closing her eyes tightly for a second, she reached down to her bag and withdrew the small silver cylinder from its hidden pocket, and tightened her grip on it as she waited for the men she knew were just around the corner blocking her way out of the sewers.

With the weird way the rest of the night had gone so far, following Celeste around like a hunter following her vornskyr didn't even seem out of place. It was just a little annoying, not knowing what the destination was or why they were walking through the snow. Jane was drawing breath to get an answer to at least one of those questions when was interrupted by the princess' question.

"No siblings that I know of, princess. I'm a very happy only child."

The blonde Mandalorian gestured broadly at the snowy city, deciding that her answer was sufficient and it was time to ask her own question.

"What're we after that's got you curious about my family?"

For Natsumi, her options were definitely dwindling by the second. Her first thought was to get out of the alcove, towards the Deathtroopers but she had been spotted too soon by one of the people pursuing her. In the darkness, she could only make out a slight reddish hue between the shots being taken that were lighting the tunnels. Her yellow saber lit the darkness and at least let her bat a few shots away from her, a couple back towards the Imperials, though her aim wasn't exactly the best with that. She had only hoped that it was going to be distraction enough.

Hearing the other voice, that strange distorted voice, sent a shiver down Nat's spine. The darkness she could sense seeped into her body, down to her very bones in a way she never had felt before. It told her one thing, this was no Sith. No, even the most evil of Sith did not feel like this. That kind of darkness never quite enveloped everything like thick dense suffocating fog the way this did. Nat could feel it pulling at her, tearing at every part of her that was good and whole. The parts of her that had been ingrained with the teachings of the Jedi. That feeling was entirely unpleasant and disconcerting for her. It was something she had never experienced. All it made her do was want to flee, and escape it before that horror reached her and pulled her under.

With the fight literally walking right to her door, she had no choice. Grasping the silver cylinder tighter, she finally leaned out from her hiding spot, to catch a glimpse of what she really was up against. Only visible for a fraction of a second, she had seen enough to judge that the armored being heading towards her now, on her side of the main flow of the sludge, had to be what she feared most, the Inquisitor. Fuck! She thought to herself. This was not going to end well, that was certain.

The odds were so heavily stacked against her. It was at least four against one. Maybe five. Where was the other one? There had been another being chasing her, that much she recalled. With that one not being within sight, or sense worried her a little more. Was it that more backup was on the way? That she'd only dug herself in deeper trouble? Or was it that they knew something she didn't?

Her bag.... she suddenly realized it was gone, and knew well what was contained within it. If they had managed to find it ... and had any clue as to what those documents were, or meant ... Oh boy ... This is bad. Bad was probably the understatement of the year. If they had those and put it together in any small way, Nat had bets they would attempt to take her alive. Now that was an option she really couldn't afford. Too much was on the line for that to happen. They couldn't learn what those documents were really about.

Taking a deep breath Natsumi pulled upon the tangled web of power that was the Force and lashed out from her hiding place, sending a wave of telekinetic energy outward in all directions trying to knock back her opponents. Her hope was to get a single opening to make a break for it. To possibly get past the troopers and maybe, just maybe find an exit out of the sewer before she was caught. Though at this point, with her bag missing, the other pursuer missing, those documents, death wasn't sounding like all that bad an idea right then either. So, maybe the swiss cheese option might not be so bad. At least that is what Natsumi tried to tell herself as she prepared to make that break for it, all depending on just how many of those opposing her, she could knock out of the way first.

OOC: Apologies for the delay, been extremely sick and just now starting to get to posting again.

Now that a battle had broken out, Iryna decided it was best to stay out of it. She knew in a battle she was more likely to get in the way of trained soldiers that help, and now that she had intelligence of unknown value protocol stated she needed to safeguard it at all costs. Including her own life. 

At the Imperial Guard's answer, she was glad she at least acknowledged her statement. She knew that ultimately he answered only to the Emperor, and the Emperor's words were law. That was something that all ISB agents had trained into them. While they might not have the same blind devotion that the Guard had it was still their job to make sure the rest of the Empire followed the Emperor's word. In a way that made her feel the guard was a kindred spirit.

Now if only they could get out of the sewer so she could take a shower or five.
